Clerkenwell – Apartment
This beautiful Victorian building required a total renovation to transform it into a sophisticated and desirable city living space. The project involved starting from scratch and totally rewiring, replumbing, moving walls, installing a new kitchen and bathrooms and bringing to life period features such as exposed iron girders and brick walls. Then Daniels Group coordinated the complete project including appointing an interior designer.
Project summary
- Total internal refurbishment of property working in partnership with the client
- Installation of new bathrooms featuring frameless bespoke glass shower screens, Lefroy Brookes WC and basin (to the master bathroom), Duravit sink & WC, Vola Taps and Carrara marble slab tiles to the ensuite
- Draw up scheme to obtain landlord’s consents and permissions and for building regs approval
- Coordination of deliveries and removal of waste materials on site (a busy London main road)
- Sourcing lighting and fitting in partnership with interior designer and client
- Compliance with Health and Safety legislation
- Budget and schedule – origination, management and reporting
- Taking up old floorboards, refurbishing them by hand, applying protective coating and relaying
- Refurbishment of period features including iron support girders, windows, radiators and the exposing of feature brick walls
- Complete interior decoration
- Complete rewiring including lighting, sockets, data and AV cabling, door entry system and alarm
- Replumbing for new bathrooms and kitchen.
- Commissioning of new mirrors and glazing, bespoke furniture and large wall graphic
- Structural alterations involving iron work including moving walls and extending door spans
- Plastering
- Installation of stylish high quality kitchen featuring Miele appliances including wine chillers, stainless steel worktops and splash backs to the kitchen
- Installation of bathrooms featuring Fired Earth tiles, frameless bespoke glass shower screens, Lefroy Brookes WC and basin to the master bathroom, Duravit sink & wc, Vola Taps and Carrara marble slab tiles to the ensuite.
